Going Backwards

I am feeling a bit smug. Being organizationally challenged, I usually find myself panicking this time of year. It must be a bit of a Christmas miracle: Christmas photos are finished, Christmas cards ordered (some even written), teacher and neighbor gifts purchased, tree up and decorated, and most of my Christmas shopping is complete! There needs to be documentation of this rare personal feat.

However, that being said, my true nature will reveal itself in the next bit of information. I am a chronic catcher-upper. So, in the spirit of catching up, I am posting some photos of the family at the annual Owasso Hog Jog. I know other parts of the country have "Turkey Trots;" here we have hogs. Also, I just noticed that I am conspiciously absent from the photos. I happened to be the photog which may explain the terrible pics.

Abby and her friend volunteered to help at the event. The only volunteer shirts that were available were immpossibly large. Although at the end of the race they were given the option to trade in their oversized shirts for properly sized race shirts, the girls politely declined and kept these.

Gilbert, Cris, and Parker all decided to run the 5K. Many attempts were made to disuade our 8 year old from participating in the run. He has never run that far (that we know of) before. He could not be convinced otherwise and ended up taking second in his age group. So, much for our parental advice...open mouth, insert running shoe.

Because the older ones were all participating, Claire could not be left out. She eagerly ran the 1 mile fun run. I was her adult chaperone, and I can tell you there were moments when she literally left me behind. Running behind a speedy 4 year old at a "fun" run isn't very fun when you are slow.

Lastly, I will leave my family members with their assignments. Matt and Julie have Bate and Dave and vice versa. Tam and Cris have Stephy and Bob and vice versa. Now I will know who's really reading this.
